Northeast-Midwest Weekly Update – 21 June 2004





The Northeast-Midwest Congressional Coalition and the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) on Thursday, June 24, will host a briefing on rail security efforts.  TSA officials will describe the Transit and Rail Inspection Pilot in which Amtrak passengers boarding long-distance trains in Washington, D.C. are having their luggage screened for explosives.  The June 24 briefing, at which refreshments will be provided, begins at 9:30 am in 2257 Rayburn House Office Building.




The National Academy of Public Administration on Monday, June 21, will discuss its recent report on the Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP).  That report assesses whether alternative business models would help MEP better serve small and medium-sized manufacturers.  The June 21 briefing will begin at 11:00 am in 2318 Rayburn House Office Building.
